Excel 2007 text box names

I've started using a VBA macro-laden Excel spreadsheet (created with 2003) in
2007. The spreadsheet has lots of text boxes across a series of charts that
are manipulated by these macros.

I need to change the names of some of these text boxes, but 2007 won't give
me the option to do so. For instance, if I select a text box, the name of it
will display in a balloon, but not in the name box field at the upper right
of the Excel window.

Is there some option or function somewhere that I can use to do this?

You'd probably do best to ask in a PC Excel group rather than the Mac Excel
group. Have a go from here:
