Excel crash on save

I have a user who is using Excel 97 on Windows98. On saving, Excel crashes
after showing the save progress bar. This problem only seems to be on one
particular file ??. I have re-installed both the office suite and service
pack. Anyone any ideas what is causing this and how I can solve it?.

Try File, Save As, to a new location, to separate the cause of the crash
from possible HD location/errors.

I did that and the problem still occured. However other users of the same
file from the LAN folder do not have the same problem ??.

Humm, the possibilities expand. Will it save to the Local hard drive? Or
is the issue confined to the network drive? Are the other computer
similarly configured?

It saves to the local drive ok and seems to be fine being used from that
location. The problem only seems to be whilst running from the network drive.
However other PC's using the same file dosn't have the problem ???.

ARE the other PC's similarly configured?!? The issue appears to be a
problem with the network access, as in operating system issues.
