Excel Crashes

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I have tried to post in the past, unsuccesfully.

I have Office 2008, have used Excel in the past, but suddenly it started to crash. It constantly crashes and even when I followed some hints of other Forum' answers, It is impossible to work with it. I am so desperate that I am about to move to Iwork.

Is there any way for me to solve this without having to uninstall all Office?

The error message says:

Same problem here. Our business computer 24" Mac Intel has leopard operating system and just recently, any file we try to open with excel immediately crashes. We used to be able to just shut down, restart office and excel would work again. Not this time. We have uninstalled and reinstalled and first attempt to open excel spreadsheet, CRASH. In fact, that goes for all of the office programs. We cannot open word, excel, powerpoint or entourage. The whole program has gone useless. iWork, no problem. So for now we are converting all files over to iWork, but we are "not happy campers". Any help out there for this???

I have the same problem with excel (my error signature is exactly the same as arfritz's-though the details were different). all my other microsoft programs work. I've removed office and reinstalled it which is the standard recommendation but with no results. I'm going to call the software helpline and see what they can do. If I get anywhere with that I'll post up the recommendations I receive.

Dear Rufus

I also tried to reinstalled it, same problem. All other office programs (including entourage) work perfectly well. I have also updated office (is permanently updated). I have tried to use it with other user (in the same laptop) with no success.

Please let me know if you get something on the helpline.
