Excel: How to import numbers from one spreadsheet onto another.

I have numbers on one sheet and need to get them to another spredsheet.
There is a common ID for each corresponding number on both sheets. Basically
I need to ask if X occurs Y (from the other spreadsheet) needs to appear in
the selected field.
