excel opening multiples sheets

When I open an excel worksheet, multiple iterations of
the worksheet opened up. For example, I click on an
excel file and five or six instances appear. They are
the same excel worksheet. Any one has any ideas on how
to fix this problem. Thanks in for your help in advance.

Do they have :1, :2, :3, :4, :5, :6 after the names?? If so then try closing
each of them using the X for that window until you get down to just Number 1,
then save the file. If that fixes it then it was caused by hitting Window / New
Window repeatedly and then saving the file.
