Exchange/OMC calendar question

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC
Email Client: Exchange

I have a user who has used Entourage for his pop3/IMAP accounts for a long time. Recently he was upgraded to the 2008 full version of Entourage, and now gets email via Exchange as well.

He does not like changing between the Exchange and OMC (on my computer) mailboxes, so he created a rule forwarding all emails from his exchange account to his OMC inbox.

The problem he's having now is that when he gets a meeting invite sent to his Exchange account, and opens it in his OMC inbox and accepts it, it goes to the Exchange account's calendar, and he wants it on the OMC calendar. Is there a way to tell it to automatically do this?

Thanks.

Kinda defeats the purpose of having an Exchange account. He should
check with his provider to see if they allow POP access to the Exchange
server.

The provider (the company I support) does not want him using pop3 for access to his mailbox. Their corporate policy is that all email must remain on the server, and when he was using pop3, he was downloading the email and deleting it from the server. They made him start using the Exchange account to keep this from happening.

IMO he should just get used to managing multiple calendars. When I
worked at an Exchange house I put my business events on my Exchange
server and my personal events on my OMC calendar. Both will show on the
My Day widget.

Trying to accommodate his needs is going to cause a lot more trouble
than him learning a new way of doing things. Plus, if he's supposed to
keep his email on the server, isn't he just cheating by *copying* it to
local folders?

When the company policy state that you have to keep the data on the server
then why you want to use folders OMC. Whenever you move anything on OMC the
data is out of your server and if you are coping them then you are
duplicating the stuff.

hope this helps

As long as the data stays on the server, he can make a copy to his OMC folders. He uses the OMC folders b/c he has other email account and uses those more than this business email on his mac. This is just his preference, and he's a big enough wig for us to try to accommodate him. I agree, he should learn how to deal with multiple calendars, but he's pretty adamant about not wanting to (as in, violently so). I'll try the My Day widget, see if at least that allows him to see all the appts. in one place.

Alternatively, is there a way to set the default view for Calendar to "All Events"?

Unfortunately, while you can use a Custom View to show events from
multiple calendars, they will show in list form and not on the
graphical month (or week or day) view.
