Exporting or Saving As

How would I save a word file that I have created so that I can open it in a
way that I can edit the fields I have created within it?

example:

Name: _________

I want to be able to fill that field without having to do it with a pen. I
want to do it on a computer. Is there a way I can do that in WORD? Do I
need to use Adobe? If so how do I export it into a file Adobe can read?

What does Adobe have to do with this? If this is a PDF format document then
Word will not open it.
If it is a Word form, then lock the form and tab between the fields. If
neither, explain.

I beleive you want to create a Form in Microsoft Word. Search Google for
something like "Create Microsoft Word Forms." Also check out:
