Exporting Outline to Word

In Office 2003 I could send an Outline from Word to Powerpoint and create
slides - I still can. But then I could send the Outline back to Word and make
notes and extra comments for a handout. This second stage does not work well.
I send it and it creates the document BUT not as an Outline - the text is
formatted as per the Powerpoint display but when I switch to Outline view it
is all listed as Body Text and the Outline structure is lost. This worked
beautifully in Office 2003. How can I get it to work in Office 2007?

Hi

I can recreate that here - creating from outline/sending back certainly
doesn't work as well in 2007 as it did in 2003 :-(

I'm afraid I don't know of any way to work around it either. I was going to
suggest selecting text in Word -> right clicking -> styles -> select text
with similar formatting -> turning it into Heading 1 style, but (from a
quick bit of testing) PowerPoint sends the whole lot through with the same
formatting regardless so even that won't work.

Sorry I didn't have better news, but perhaps someone else will have a
suggestion.

Thanks - I thought it was me being stupid. However, it doesn't help. What
have MS done to turn this useful feature off? Is it an Outline or not? The
promotion/demotion shortcut keys are the same for PPT & Word. Anyone else got
a clue? If not, how can I ask MS?
