Exporting project information to excel pivot table and workbook

I have just started using MSP 2007. I opened project this morning and
entered some task information in a new file - I did not copy form any where.
I then tried to use the file save as excel pivot table and received the
following error:

"You are trying to save a file saved in an older file format. Your settings
do not allow you to save the file in older file formats. To change your
setting, navigate to the "Security" tab in the Options dialog box."

Any suggestions???

Hi J,

I am able to save Project 2007 files as Excel (*.xls) files without
incident. My settings for legacy formats is "Allow loading files with
legacy or non default file formats." The *xls setting is an older
version (not 2007) of Excel so perhaps that is the problem.

Did you try changing the setting in Tools > Options, Security?

I am using Excel 2007. I changed my settings are you advised and everything
works fine.
