External Databases

Erik Hardtle

I have two separate frontpage websites with databases located in their FPDB
directories. I am trying to display the data from one database on the
others website.

I have tried using DRW and selecting external database but it does not work.

Any idea on how I can show database results from one webpages database on a
different web site?

Thanks,

Erik

I've had some success with this (accidentally at first).
you'll have to edit your own database connection string, and if they (the
databases) are on the same server you can reference them by their actual
physical path like c:\inetpub\usersites\somesite\fpdb\something.mdb.

That depends on the web host and how the permissions are set for each site hosted.

They are on the same server and drive (c:\)

what would the "database connection string" look like....the syntax....
would it be in the html view? I would probably have to use the "spooky
diet" to keep frontpage from overwriting it.

It take it that this is not something that is done alot. I had no success
searching the web and the frontpage websites for this.
