external link don't function

I am having a problem with linking two tasks externally. I am linking two
tasks with a finish to finish relationship so when the task 2 moves task1
above it moves back and forth with it. The link works the way I expect it
when the tasks are the same file but it does not work when the link is
external. is there some kind of setting or anything I can possibly missing??

Hadi,
If I had to guess, I'd say one of the tasks has a constraint on it that
is preventing it from moving in response to the link. To view all
constraints at once display the Constraint Type field as a column in the
view. The default under Tools/Options/Schedule tab is that "tasks will
always honor their constraint dates".

Another possibility is that Tools/Options/Calculation tab is set for
manual instead of the default of automatic.
