extracting images from a ppt file

Save As...

change the filetype from "presentation" to "JPG" or "GIF"

then click "save"

powerpoint will ask if you want to save the current slide or all of them.

Right click any image (even background in PPT 2002-2003) and select SAVE AS.
I recomend saving as a .png as this assures the highest color (24 bit).

Another option is to do a SAVE AS for the entire presentation and choose
SAVE AS HTML. This will create a folder of all images in the presentation
(although they will be low res).
