Fancy edging border

Dianne

Hi folk
Was wondering if anyone could help me with doing a fancy edging around a photo . . .a specific kind
I have Publisher 2002 on XP
What I want is the photo to take on a ripped jagged look with this 'look' being white in colour. Hard to explain
Reason for this is I am trying to do up a resume' for a friends son which has been done by someone else and I am trying to update photo's etc within this. I need to try to match new photos with the borders already on photos that are not to be renewed
Hope this makes sense . . .probably not but thought I'd give this forum a go
Many thanks for any help offered
Dianne

Dianne,

I'm pretty sure you'll need a photo editor to accomplish what you want to
do, if there's another way, I'm not sure what it is. Here's a link to a
tutorial that will show you how to accomplish this using Photoshop Elements,
but you'll probably need to tweak it to suit your needs.

I'm thinking you need to prepare the images in
a digital image editing program. The following
example was done using MS Digital Image Pro 9.

I suspect that most advanced image editing
programs have similar options.

If this image had been saved in the .gif format the
edges would be transparent when layered over a
contrasting color. Saved as a .jpg...the background
(canvas) would be visible as a white rectangle
behind the image.

Thanks for all your support folks. Have just recently discovered this forum and am grateful to know it is there.
I eventually found similar to what I was looking for in the 'borders' in another programe I have on system that gave me the type of edging I was looking for . .. 'Photo Impressions 3' which was the software that came with my web cam . . .pays to look around ones own system a little further . .also I have more editing software ordered for digital photo's etc.
Once again . .many thanks
Di
