favicon problems

I have tried to add my favicon to my website. Every time I try to add it in
my root directory I get an error message that says

'Could not load c:\documents and settings\[name left out for privacy]\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet File\Front Page TemDir\wpwg17pf.zip"

What am I doing wrong? And how do I make it work?

Offhand, I would guess that you need to import the icon file into your web
site. And, it would help to get it out of the WinZip file first.

you shouldn't need to upload a zip so maybe that's going wrong.
just open your local web, hit file/ import and bring in your favicon.ico.
then right click it in folders view and select "publish selected files".
besides doing that you my want to use:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://example.com/favicon.ico">
in the head section of your page.

Perfect!! It worked beautifully. Silly me I didn't realize it was in a zip
file. I followed the steps and it worked.
