Feeback form creating 2 emails

I have a feedback form that had been working fine on the site for well
over 2 years now. Recently I had to republish the site back to the server
because of a recent server failure. The backup I used was a little out of
date and I had to change the email address in the form for the results to be
sent to. Now I get 2 emails for every single submission of the form online.
I created another form from scratch for testing and it too sends a duplicate
email with every submission of the form. Anyone got a clue on this one?

Unless I'm missing something I don't see anything that would make
duplicate emails in the form properties though I will double-check. I even
tried creating a form from scratch and still had the same problem. Could it
be a problem with the extensions on the web?

After several frustrating days of trying to figure out the problem I
finally resolved the issue. It had NOTHING to do with FP or the FP
extensions. Also the forms were made just fine.

I was scanning my email server logs while looking for something else and I
noticed no duplicate activity that would explain why I was getting 2 emails
for every form submission from the site. There was only once instance of
SMTP activity in the logs of every form submission. I instantly became
suspicious of my Outlook client. I had created 2 different rules to filter
email sent to one particular account into a subfolder. That account was the
same destination as the forms on the site send to. I also had another rule
to filter and incoming messages into the same subfolder that had been sent
from the address that my IIS server SMTP is configured for. The two
addresses are different. When a form was submitted, my email client was
processing 2 different rules a on the same email and creating duplicates. I
deleted the rules and all is well.

A very odd set of circumstances. I posted the resolution so anyone who
might search concerning a similar problem could possibly benefit from my
experience with this problem.
