Field Definitions for MSP2003

Steve

Could someone point me in the right direction to find a downloadable document
that lists the fields within MSP2003 and a brief definition of how they
calculate. I may not be using the help function correctly, I can find the
fields but have to drill down for each one individually. There must be a
Microsoft user document available for easy reference.

Hi Steve,

I don't believe you are using help incorrectly. To the best of my
knowledge, drilling down individually on each field is the only option.
I do not know of a centralized, easy to view document that you are
seeking. The On-Line help is arranged in exactly the same manner as the
Help within Project.

Sorry :-(

Thank you, I use to have an old copy of Microsoft Project 98 for Windows 95 &
Windows NT White Paper titled "Field Definition and Formulas for Microsoft
Project 98". (60 some pages) It listed each of the fields with the basic
info of data type, entry type, description & how calculated. Same basic info
in the help. But it disappeared. It might have been old, but it sure was
handy to answer quick questions without have to search and drill down in the
help crossing through task fields, resource fields and resource assignment
fields.

Hi Steve,

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback.

I agree, it would be very handy to have some sort of white paper as you
mentioned. Too bad it went missing as I am sure that much of the
information would still apply to the later releases.

A way to make your search a bit quicker is to use the hyperlink to help
on the specific which appears if you hover your mouse over the column
heading.
