Any hint as to what the fields were? Are they mail merge fields? Word
fields?

Also, what version of Word are you using and what service packs do you
have installed?

I was printing envelopes using an excel document as the input using the column names for the fields in word. It had been working thine then some of the fields stopped printing or were printed on the wrong line.

Word 2000 9.0.2720

So the merge fields are not missing in the document but the data from
the Excel worksheet is missing?

To verify the fields are still in the document, press Alt + F9 to
toggle the field codes.
