file conversion

When I open some files, I get 'File Conversion - th1tab1.lst' in which I am told to "select the encoding that makes your document readable." It always stay at "other encoding - Japanese" which is very annonying. I want to force Word to open the file 'by default' instead of popping the window and asking me every single time. Thanks.

Hi EWA

Tools > Options. On the General tab, un-tick "Confirm conversion at
Open".
