file->properties->custom

Hi,

I have a document template which has to be customised.
That is done by going to file->properties->custom and
giving "values" to certain "keys".

After doing this if I do cntrl A+F9 then all the values
are substituted wherever the corresponding key occurs.

I want to know How to add my own custom "keys"

Thanks,
Chetak

Hi Chetak

File > Properties > Custom. In the Name box type your key (eg
"ApprovedBy"). In the Value box type a value (eg "Fred"). Now the Add
button is enabled. Click the Add button and you'll see that your new
custom document property has been added to the list at the bottom of the
dialog box.

To use the document property in your template, do ctrl-F9. Within the
braces that Word gives you, type "DOCPROPERTY ApprovedBy" (no quotes).
So it looks like { DOCPROPERTY ApprovedBy }.

The value ("Fred") will then appear in the template.

Hope this helps.

Hi Shauna,

Thank you very much. It cut a days 'pain' into an hours
work.

Best regards,
Chetak
