File Types for Attachments, Outlook 2003

We have discovered that when selecting a file to attach in
Outlook 2003, the drop list for file types does not include
Excel or some of the other usual groups like images. In
order to attach an Excel file, one must select to browse
"all files" ... and this can be a real pain. IDEAS?
