Filebrowser and Import

Hallo,

I would like to make a command button in my form which
opens a file browser, lets me choose an .xls file, and
imports this file into a new table with the name 'Year_1'.

I cannot figure out any of these routines, and would be
grateful for any help.

Check out the book "Access 2000 Developers Handbook" by Getz and company.

In this book is an excellent discussion about open file dialog box and the
whole routine you can use. The book also discusses importing text and excel
files and how to do it step by step with routines you can use. I have been
using these routines successfully for several years.
