Fill Dropdown List from semicolon separated string

Hi All,
I need to fill a dropdown list with content from a webservice. The problem
is that the webservice returns a string with semicolon separated values.
If I try to bind the dropdown list to the data of the webservice infopath
says that the data has to be a repeating value.
Is there a way to "transform" the string so I can use it in the dropdown list?
I'm pretty new to Infopath so I don't know whether it is possible at all.
Would be grateful for any help!

Hi the only way that I found to add and item into any repeater list or drop
down list is by using behind code of infopath, so all what you need to do is
separating the string into a string array and add it into list by using
behind code
