Find is not working in Word 2000

When I open the Find feature in Word, it blanks out the document.

No, I use McAfee. I also should mention this....I am using Windows 2000 and
if I log on as another user the Find feature works. I deleted the profile
and the Find worked after I did that, but then the next day when I logged on
it didn't work again.

Thanks for your help.
