Find routine doesn't work

I have Outlook 2002 running on Windows 2000. When I want
to find a message, I use the Find routine. I type in the
word(s)I am looking for, making sure it is looking in the
Inbox. No items are found. Even when I try "finding" a
message that is blatantly obvious.

Is there an add-in I am missing or something?
