Finding an error in Project Title

J

Judy

I have a project that has a spelling error in the title
of the project. When I open the project, I am unable to
find where this error has occurred. I have check the
Project Information and Task Information fields as well
as Properties. They are all correct and appear correct
as long as I open the file. As soon as I attach the file
to a master project file, the error shows up again.
Where am I not looking?

Thanks

Judy,

I'm pretty sure that the info you want is in the "title" box of
File/Properties menu.

It is this data that then defines the title of the linked file in the
master file. However, it won't change this information if you changed
the title in the linked file after it has been inserted into the master
file.

So ... ensure the info is correct is the subproject, then delete it from
the master, then reinsert it. Should take the new name.

I checked the File Properties Title on the original
file. They are all correct. I deleted the file from the
Master and relinked it. It still comes in with the same
spelling error. So it must not be getting the
information from there. Any other thoughts?

Sorry ... I'm stumped. You've apparently done the same thing I've done
(and I tested before suggesting it to you).....

Possibly dumb advice (but I'd do it anyway):
Change the File Properties Title to something else in the subproject
file, save and close it. then reopen and change title back to something
"correct". Save and close. Then open master file. Delete link. Save
and close. Then re-open and reinsert link.

excellent. sometimes brute force works. (usually not, so it's a last
resort).
