Finish to Finish

Chris

I am trying to set up a dependacy between two sub tasks that are in relation to each other and have a finish to finish relationship. Right now subgroup a does have dependicies setup for for finish to start, but sub group b does not have any type of relationships. I am trying to set up the relationship between grp a and grp b, but Project is telling me that it cannot set up a relationship. I have tried to delete the relationshipst hat have already been setup in subgrp a, but keep running into the same error if there are no dependacies of anytype. Any help would be greatly appeciated.

Hi,

I hope some people are cleverer than I am, but sorry, I do not understand
what you mean by relations between groups.

Chris,
I'm a little confused about what you mean by "subtasks" and "subgroups".
If one or the other happens to be at a summary level, you do not really
want to have a dependency on a summary level task. Project will
generally allow it, but you are asking for trouble and may end up with a
circular relationship that gives an error message.

If you are simply trying to set up a linkage between two performance
tasks (i.e. non-summary) and you are still having trouble, give us a
little more information as to the structure of your Project plan.

Hi Chris,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Trying hard to read your mind - try setting up a milestone for the finish of
each sub-group and link those FF.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :))
