finishing earlier than baseline schedule

I'm very new to MS Project - using Project 2007.

Once I set a baseline for a project, and then go and update the tasks every
couple of days based on progress or delay information received by the team -
how can I have MS Project show that a task was a)finished before the baseline
date AND b) is delayed or finishing after the baseline date?

Thanks in advance

Apply the Tracking Gantt view, which allows you to compare the current
schedule (blue and red Gantt bars) against the original Baseline schedule
(gray Gantt bars). Click View - Table - Tracking. You can use this Table
to enter progress in your plan. Enter the date work began on a task in the
Actual Start field, enter the estimated amount of progress in the % Complete
field, and then enter the finish date of the Actual Finish field. Hope this
helps.
