Fixed time over several days

Hi
Im wondering how to set the time i plan to use to a fixed value even if the
duration is over several days.

Example: Task A, duration 5 hours, start 2006-08-03, finish 2006-08-10

When i try to do this project either changes my finish time to 2006-08-03 or
the duration to 48 hours.

How do i tell Project to leave my values alone??

ps. Sorry if this has been answered before, i did a very quick search but
didn't find anything i thought was the same.

Hi,

Your duration (which is the difference between finish and start) IS 48
hours, that is mathematical and even the big Microsoft can't change that.

And you really shouldn't ask Project to leave values alone. Its whole
purpose is to make plan calculations for you.

You are referring to a different value which is Work
Try this (there are other methods)
Window, Split
Upper half select the task
Lower Pane, in task type select fixed duration
Fill out a resource name and enter 15h (or whatever) in Work
Re-activate the upper pane.
