Flash at beginning and end of video in PPT

Hi

When using video in PowerPoint, it flashes before it starts playing
and then flashes at the end. I've got round the problem by fading the
video up from (and to) black, but wondered why the video flashes and
if there's a way of avoiding it?

One way is to set it to 'Hide while not playing' under its Custom Animation.

It seems to flash more this way - and then doesn't actually play the
clip either.....

The file is a wmv file.
