Flash Drive

I have a user that has a flash drive that works on some PCs but not on
others. It's not viewable from "My Computer" but he sometimes gets a message
about the speed is incompatible. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Likely an issue with not having the hardware or drivers installed in the
operating system and mis-assigned drive letters, once again in the
operating system. Suggest comparing the locations that it works vs.
location where it doesn't, make the corrections, and post further
questions to a group dealing with operating system issues. This group is
for Office progams/application (see office in the name) When posting
your question to the correct group also be specific as to what the
problem is and be specific for each computer you are testing on.

If the flash drive doesn't show up in "my computer," go to Start|Control
Panel|Administrative Tools|Computer Management|Storage|Disk Management (this
may be a little different on different versions of Windows). Right-click the
flash drive in the list, choose "change drive letter and path" and change
the drive letter.

This used to happen to me at the office, where we had a network drive mapped
as the G drive. On certain computers -- usually ones with more than one hard
drive (so they'd use more drive letters than the other systems), my flash
drives wouldn't show up, and I'd have to go through these steps to see it.

As for the speed compatibility, you may have the drive on a system that
doesn't have USB2, which is faster than the older USB1 (or is it 1.1?).

As Bob mentioned, this is way off topic for this newsgroup, so you should
post your questions in a group related to your version of Windows.
