Footer #=0

I have a Word 2002 document that is 6 pages. The first page is a cover page with a section break for a header that starts on the second page. When I try to put a page number in the footer it will only print 0. I have checked the page number layout and it is set to start at 1 with the first page (cover page) different. I have deleted and started over several time without luck. I always work with Reveal Codes on and cannot find why it will not correctly format. Help!!

Thanks, that fixed it. It's a problem working in a table that someone else has created. I just deleted the table and re-created and that resolved the issue.
