Footnotes-delete bar

S

Sue O'Donnell

I am attempting to insert something at the bottom of the
first page of a document. Ordinarily I would simply put it
in the first page footer. However, I'm working with a
protected document that won't allow modifications to the
footer. I can use a footnote to accomplish what I want,
however, the footnote has a bar at the top to separate it
from the main text. Is there a way to eliminate this bar
(or at least make it so it doesn't show)? Alternatively,
is there any other way to put this information at the
bottom of the first page (other than spacing down and
hoping it stays there when the document is opened on other
machines.) Thanks.

To remove the separator bar, go into the footnote window.
There will be a drop box. Select separator (there are
two) and delete the bar like you would any other text.

To put information on page one, put it in a text box or a
frame and anchor it so it doesn't move.
