Footnotes

When inserting first footnote in a chapter I get this message"Start At must
be between 1 and 16383 for this format. Never encountered this before. What
to do?

There could be corruption in your document. Try to copy everything in
the document except for the final paragraph mark into a new blank
document, and see if that helps. If your document is divided into Word
sections, you need to copy on a section-by-section basis, each time
excluding the final paragraph mark of the section.
