Form template opens in Infopath rather than browser from Sharepoin

Hi,

I have uploaded and activated an administrator approved form template to a
site collection. We have selected the "Display as a web-page" setting in
"Advanced Document Library Settings: Form Templates" in Central
Administration which is supposed to force a new form (for filling out) to
open in a browser even if the machine has an Infopath Client on it. This is
not working because the new form opens in the Infopath Client instead of the
browser. So, this is our problem.
However, once a form has been completed and submitted back to Sharepoint it
opens from the library as expected in a browser for viewing. Therefore, this
part is working fine.

It doesn't make sense that this browser enablement seems to work in one
situation and not the other.

Any help much appreciated....

Dear Kalyan,

Yes, I had already done all this but it still doesn't work. Is this a known
bug?

Rgds,

Rob.

While you're designing the form, make sure you set browser compability
option in form settings - enter site url.
Then publish the form again.

Since you uploaded the form via the admin site, you may need to add the site
content type for the form template to your document library and then make it
the default content type. Also, make sure the template URL for the content
type is the absolute URL of the form template (e.g.
http://server/FormServerTemplates/mytemplate.xsn).

Hi David,

This problem has cropped up on a sub-site of the site used below. We are
trying to point to the same admin approved form template as is used in the
other site. Again, the New button does open up the form template OK but only
in the Infopath client. I have checked that the template url points to the
absolute url (i.e.
http://server/FormServerTemplates/mytemplate.xsn). Can you think why this is
mis-behaving?

Rgds,

Rob.

Hi David,

I'm not sure whether this is related to our issue below, but when the form
opens in the undesired Infopath Client, and is filled out and submitted, it
is sent to the site above's Form Library, and not to the Form library in the
sub-site. I looked at Submit Options in design view of the template and there
is a data connection defined that tells Sharepoint where to submit the form
to. Surely, this means we cannot use one form template that works for both
sites under this one data connection definition?

Rgds,

Rob.
