Format Custom Number Field ?

I have used a custom number field for a calculation. Can I format the field?
I would like to format this column as a percent, similar to % Complete.

Sorry, no. Spare number fields can only contain numbers, no alpha
characters. Your best bet is to use a spare text field, then you can
concatenate it with whatever alpha characters you want.
