Formatting text in MS Project

Help. I have a schedule in MS Project. It was saved as
MS '98 (although I have 2000, and have just saved it back
up again). Someone had manually changed the colours of
individual tasks to show which had been completed, and
others which had slipped. Quite apart from being
unnecessary, this was making the schedule difficult to
read, so I tried to reverse the changes.

I highlighted the whole schedule, and changed the Font
Colour to 'Automatic', then went to Format Text Styles to
put some colour / formatting back in.

I was able to change the Summary Tasks to bold, and the
Milestone Tasks to italic. But I also want Milestone
Tasks to be in BLUE, and this it won't let me do!
(Although if I add NEW milestones to the schedule, they
are formatted as blue italics.)

This is driving me round the twist. What am I doing
wrong??!

Thanks

Elaine.

Hello Elaine,

On the disobedient milestones, have you tried :
Format / Font... / Color : automatic

Hope this helps,

Try selecting the whole schedule again and choosing Edit-Clear-Formats. This
will remove any custom formats in the cells and let the Format-Text Styles
definitions take over.
