FP2003 and ASP.NET

Hi, I was so, so, looking forward to FP2003 and its ability to work with
asp.net but to my disappointment Microsoft is still left wanting. I have
created a database connection (asp.net option) using the results wizard and
the page it created is using C# as its default language. It has also created
the global.asa and web.config just to add confusing elements to the simple
process of connecting to a database. Why does it have to do this when the
asp.net code to connect to a database is so simple (according to my
programmer)? I would have liked to learn the basics of asp.net programming
by following what FP does (like I have with HTML) but I now think it would
be easier to knuckle down and learn it myself. I was hoping to use FP2003 to
create the framework and templates of our .net sites (retreaving and writing
to the db)and hand them over to the programmer to add functions and
manipulate the data. He has basically said 'good luck!', as to manipulate
the data would mean working with the 'screwy' way FP creates the pages,
changing what FP does and writing C# in the pages (He prefers VB).
Basically, I've been told in no uncertain terms where to put FP and to start
to learn asp.net myself. He has gone back to Dreamweaver! Today I will
download the .NET SDK 1.1 package. Will this help me? Anyway, my main
questions:

1) Can the scripting language be changed to VB and then can normal asp.net
code be used in the page (that FP creates)?
2) I was told that the results wizard only reads data in a db. Are there no
wizards for creating pages that update or change data in a database?
3) Do I need sharepoint as FP seems to like it <meta name="ProgId"
content="SharePoint.WebPartPage.Document">
4) When I open aspx pages previously created, "databound" appears where the
asp.net code is in the design view of the page. I can't change or view
properties of these areas or add .net web controls from any menus
(insert|forms etc.). Tools|options|ASP.NET tab shows where the assembly
controls are located. Has FP not got any support for asp.net web controls?
5) Does anyone know of any plug-ins for FP to support asp.net web controls?
6) Some write ups about FP2003 suggest that "...Microsoft is starting to
target serious web developers". Hmmm, can someone be honest and tell me if
Dreamweaver still comes out on top for the serious web development
environment? At least it includes asp.net web controls.

Microsoft is trying to promote .NET as something so wonderful and
expandable. Is it that I am in the wrong area and should really be looking
at Visual Studio.NET to help me in the adoption of asp.net in my web
development business?

I like the feel and ease of use of FP, especially 2003 and don't want to
change. I can create, format, and upload pages easily and even my programmer
sends me pages to clean up and especially adjusting table formatting. But I
am getting a little tired of being prevented from doing more that the
standard web pages webbots.

Sorry for such a long post and thanks you guys (and girls) for all your
help. Even answers to part of this post would be very helpful. Despite my
whingeing, one things for sure, this news group rocks!
