FP98 - Front page is inserting deleted text at the end of a page

I've been using FP98 for a while with no problem. Lately, however,
when I try to update the site, text I've deleted is reinserted at the
bottom of the page. More specifically, I have a component htm file
which is inserted using the FP insert web page bot. When I delete
text from the component file, it is inserted at the bottom of the
component. This, then shows itself in the parent page. This is also
happening in the parent page itself. Stuff is just inserted at the
bottom of the page ... sometimes three or four copies of it.

Fortunately, I haven't published these erroneous pages so the
published site is still OK ... but hopelessly out of date.

I've tried reinstalling FP98, I've tried creating a new web site and
importing the on-line web site. I've tried deleting the files in the
vt_ subdirectories. But I've run out of things to try.

Does anyone recognize this? Can anyone help?

Thank you so much,

Dave Caracappa

Try removing the doctodep.btr and deptodoc.btr files from the _vti_pvt
directory and recalculate.

I did that and nothing changed. In fact, I found something new. I
have one file which is inserted into another. It's a very simple page
with just a paragraph or two of text in it. If I use the FP Explorer
to open that page in the FP Editor, delete the extraneous stuff which
was added, leaving only a two line paragraph, then do a View/Refresh,
the extraneous stuff comes right back again - as if I did an Undo.
<sigh>

I'd appreciate any other suggestions.
