FrontPage 2002 - Password?

M

Mark Atkin-Barrett

I have created a website and have published it without any problems...well
almost without any problems!!!

Part of my document has a hyperlink pointing towards a Word document. When
the hyperlink is slected it gives you the choice of 'open', 'save' or
'Cancel'. If 'open' is selected the document becomes visable but when you
have finished reading it and want to go back to the website (using the back
button on the toolbar) the password / username screen appears...the same one
i see when i publish my site each time.

Can anyone help me get round this problem so that it stops appearing?

Thanks in advance

Mark

ps my website is http://sbandsj.webspace.surefish.co.uk/

from the homepage click on the sermons link...another page will
appear...open up the sermon for the 12th December.

Hi Mark:
That's only going to happen on your computer (the one you used to publish
the web site from). It's not going to happen to your web site visitors - I
just tried it - didn't happen to me.

Password Prompt When You Close a Word Document that You Opened in a Web Browser

This is an issue with an individual computer.
There is some info here, a link to a knowledge base article describing a fix, and a downloadable
file to run and fix it if you don't like "playing" in the system registry:
