general knowledge

As a newcomer to Project I'm finding out how much I don't know. Any
directions to knowledge databases for the following would be greatly
appreciated.

a. I'd like to find out the formulas underlying custom enterprise
functions. For example I know that a [variance] function is really a
date formula, and I'd like to find a list extrapolating the formulas.
b. What are the definitions of rollup, sum, max, etc, as regards
project fields? I understand their use in excel but it doesn't seem
to correlate to project.
c. What is value RAG in graphical indicators?

Thanks so much for any help. Naomi

btw I did post this on the MS Office Online Project discussion group,
but someone suggested I post to a server group, and the MS elist
servers are misfunctioning, can't see any recent posts, so I'm posting
here.
