Generic date template

B

I would like to create a project with generic timelines, not specific dates.
So for example: a task might be "Poll users" and I would like this task to
begin on Day #3 and end on Day #6. etc.

Does anyone know how I could do this in Project 2007?

Hi,

You can't really do it, but the good news is a) there is absolutely no need
for it and b) up to a certain point you can show these values.

a) No need: When once the plan is made you click the Adjust Dates button on
the Analysis toolbar you can change Project Start to any date you want and
the rest will follow.

b) In the Timescale (right part of the Gantt Chart) you can put labels such
as Week 1,2... from Start and D1,D2,D3... from Start. Format menu,
Timescale, for each level look up Label.

If you want these to appear in the left part as well you will need a formula
in a custom date field.
