generic date

In the Gantt chart view, entry table - I want to show dates as Month 1 Month
2...etc and not actual dates. I've tried several conversions and formulas,
but no luck. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Hi Jim,

The following formula inserted into a Text field will return what I
believe you are seeking:

"Month" & " " & Month(Start)

This will show the word Month and the month number of the Start field.
You would have to create another formula for the finish date.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for the reply. The catch is, I don't want to show the actual month #
(example "6" for June). The project starts in June, therefor I want June to
be "Month 1" , July to be "Month 2"...ect. You can achieve this in the Gantt
chart itself by formatting the timescale, but I can't seem to match that in
the entry table.

Hi Jim,

Yes, that extra piece of information does change the story a bit. As
far as I know, this isn't possible. As you noted, you can format the
timescale in the Gantt chart to show Month1 from the start of the
project but I don't know of a method to renumber actual dates in the
Start and Finish field from the Project start date. Perhaps someone
else has a solution for you. Sorry.

Jim,
Use the DateDiff function :
DateDiff(interval, date1, date2[, firstdayofweek[, firstweekofyear]])

with "m" for "month" as Interval

You are welcome Jim.

It *may* be possible through VBA, but I'm afraid that isn't one of my
skills. You may get an answer if you post to the project developer
site.
