I just installed a new win2ksp4 with outlook 2002 sp3.
My Outlook.pst file is on another box, and after some
fiddling, I got the new outlook to use this remote
file. I have numerous contacts in the Contacts folder.

However, if I start a new message, and click "To", I
do not get a list of contacts to select from.

How can I make this happen?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Mike.

Mike

right click the Contacts folder and show it as an Outlook address book -
there's a tick box.

If that doesn't do it, the next step is to click the address book Icon on
the toolbar, then Tools, Options, show address books in the following order
and add your Contacts folder to the list.

I did this:
right click contacts folder
select proterties
select Outlook Addess Book Tab
Check Show this folder as an e-mail address tab
select inbox folder
click New, a new e-mail message appears
click To..., an empty list appears
in the upper right, expand the line with "Contacts" in it
a list appears in which the work "Contacts" appears twice, upper
selected
select lower, my list of names from contacts appears.

Now how can I get rid of the upper "Contacts", which is empty,
or failing this, get the lower to be the default?

Thanks again for your help.

Mike.

Hi Mike

click the address book icon and select Tools /Options and change the
settings to Show address books in this order. You can remove the one you
know to be blank here too!

Judy,
Thanks for your help. My problem is now solved. On the tools->options
menu, it was necessary to select the second "Options" in both "Show this
address list first:" and "Keep personal addresses in:". However, I have
not been able to remove the first "Options". This is, of course, only
a minor detail.
Mike.
