Getting help at Microsoft

Do you get as frustrated at trying to get help from
Microsoft? I have 5 products and I have never received
any help! I contact ATI or any other manufacturer of
either software or hardware and they want their customers
to be happy and use their products.

It does not seem that Microsoft wants users! How do you
get help?

I printed pictures in WORD and now my computer crashes and
WORD won't work.

Hi, Patti. It's difficult to provide help when your entire statement of the problem is "I printed pictures in WORD and now my computer crashes and WORD won't work". What version of Word? What version of Windows? Does it crash when you start Windows, or when you start Word, or when you are working in Word (if so, does Word always crash when you do a specific thing, or is the crash more of a random event?), or when you are closing Word, or when you are doing something else (if so, what?)? Maybe as a starting point, try the steps listed in http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm.

Garfield: I think the issue was not a specific how-do-I-fix-this, but
instead a desire to find how to get actual assistance from Microsoft.

Patti: I will contact them for customer service stuff like replacing
scratched CDs, upgrade issues, etc., but I've contacted them for support only
once, and I will probably never bother with doing it again.
