Getting Runtime Error

M

Michael

After having to have my motherborard replaced everything seems to be
working fine, except Visio. When I try to start the program I get a
Microsoft Visial C++ Runtime Library window that says " Runtime
Error, Program Files/Visio/Visio32.exe , Abnormal program
termination"

I've tried reinstalling Visio, tried Microsoft Knowledge Base with no
avail. Can someone help me out?

since runtime errors are software, would care to share with us some of the
other pieces of the puzzle like; operating system and fix packages, visio
version, processor type(s)? Have you checked event logs???

Event viewer says:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\CatRoot2\edb00003.log. Error -530.

Microsoft says "Sorry"

Al,

Thanks for the help. However, I've been exploring my files and I've
come to the conclusion that what ever problem I'm having is the result
of the clown that installed my motherboard fooling around with my
programs (none would come up when I got the computer back). I've found
that Visio runs fine, from the back up on my slave drive, but not from
the program on my C drive. He's also gone in and change the path of
the icon to read from the G drive too, so he was aware of the problem
but neglected to tell me.
Can you legally shoot people that work at computer repair shops?

Well, it sounds like you have at least the start of a solution. Where I used
to teach (in a consulting environment), we used to tell the students to
follow the first rule of the Hippocratic Oath (the ones that doctors use).
First "do no harm".
Good Luck,
Al
