Getting the projection of the BCWS

Stefan Robert

When using the Analyse Timescaled data in Excel... wizard I would like
to be able to get the data exported for the BCWS for up to the end of
the project and get the data ACWP and BCWP only up to the actual date.

When I use the wizard, I can only export up until the Actual Date or
status date for the BCWS, ACWP and BCWP all together. So to get my BCWS
curve up to the end of the project, I put my status date at the end of
the project, but this gives me the ACWP and BCWP curves up to the end
of the project also qhen I would like them to track the Actual date
instead.

I know I could modify the data in Excel manually to get what I want,
but I was wondering if this can be done automatically...

Thanks

Stefan

Your choices are:

Modify in excel (easiest)
Modify the add-in (harder)
Write your own export code (hardest)

Let me know if you need any help with either of the harder choices.
Actually, I'm thinking that the middle one may be the hardest.

We usually follow the "Modify in Excel" choice that Jack pointed out.

Basically, you'll need to copy the Baseline Cost field over and turn it into
a cumulative value (which is what the BCWS field is in Project). The Analyze
Timescaled Data output usually includes a "Totals" field, which I usually
copy and "Paste Special" for values only. That should help you get started.
