Graphic objects appear and dissapear randomly

I'm using Word XP SP3.

Any graphic objects on my document dissapear and reappear randomly.
This is happening to pictures, horizontal lines, smart shapes, or even
visio objects. The problem seems to happen in both normal view and
page layout view.

It is some sort of display issue, because when I resize the window,
even if just by a little, the graphic objects reappear. If I then
scroll the object out and back into the window, the object dissapears.

I hope someone can help!
Thanks
Carlos

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control
Panel | Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting. If this fixes the
problem, then you might check the website of the manufacturer of
your graphics adapter to see if an updated graphics driver available.

I have had the same problem with various newer machines in a school
environment, word 2000 will work fine which is interesting. However if your
go to your graphics driver in control panel via the display icon. Reduce your
hardware acceleration in the advanced options area. The images will stay.
Microsoft need to offer a patch for this problem

Reducing the hardware acceleration worked, but I had to reduce it 4
steps, which slows down the machine and many other apps I have.
Strangely enough someone else with the same laptop, video card and
video driver version doesn't have the problem. Time to learn to live
with it, I suppose.

Thanks for the suggestions
