Graphic refresh problem in word documents

T

Trevor

When ever I open a word document with a graphic, if I scroll down the page
and back up the picture disappears. When I say disappear the page does not
get refreshed and it looks blank except for text in the document. If I
minimize and restore the document I can see the picture. Also If I add a
space or type something in the document it all gets refreshed.

I have played with ‘Place holder’ setting, Hardware acceleration and all
this does not make a difference

I’m using word 2003(11.5604.5605).

This issue of disappearing graphics appears to be attributable to the
graphics driver with recent ATI display adapters and the Intel®
82915G/82910GL Express Chipset Family causing particular problems.

In the case of the latter, the latest driver
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scr...543/a08/win2k_xp1411.exe&agr=N&ProductID=1764
appears to fix the problem. DON'T TRY TO USE THIS DRIVER WITH ANY OTHER
CHIPSET/ADAPTER.

I believe there are driver updates at ATI's web site for its adapters.

If you have the problem with a different display adapter and are sure you
are using the latest driver, then reducing the display's hardware
acceleration is the only other know cure.
