graphing custom fields

warning...I'm somwwhat new to Project....

I have created custom fields for my tasks some of which are numerical. Can I
chart these custom fields versus time, and can I make a graphs of them?

Your version of Project? In P2007 you can make your own template for Excel
by clicking on Reports/Visual Reports... frome there select New..

None of the custom fields are timephased, so unless you take regular
snapshots of the values of the fields and store the data somewhere, you
won't be able to graph them over time.

When I need to do this I usually just copy the data from Project and store
and graph it in excel.

Thanks for the suggestion...

the customer fileds are timephased in the sense that the values are
associated with multiple tasks that are timephased. So I'd like to grpah them
alongside the gantt cart like a regular resource (cumulatively if possible)

yes, P2007...

I'd like to graph the custom values alongside the tasks as if they were a
regular resource (cumulatively if poss). meantime I'll explore Excel
templates.

And I'll rate responses - I imagine if I rate them now the qestion may
register as answered, so I'll hold off for a bit yet...
