Groove keeps crashing after opening for 15 seconds

Using Groove 3.1.2339 and after it was installed and all of the workspaces
had been downloaded the user took the laptop remotely for 2 weeks. Groove
tried to remotely sync folders over the VPN and was crashing a lot during
those 2 weeks. After bringing the laptop back, it would crash after 15-20
seconds of logging in to Groove.
This is the Groove Critical Error it will throw: Groove encountered an
internal error and is unable to continue. Please restart Groove.

I have tried reinstalling it to no avail. Any ideas?

I have the same problem I am using Groove 2007(4.2.0.2623).

For me maybe once every out of every 5 times I open up groove I will
actually be able to use groove. The other 4 times the program just freezes on
launch and I can't do anything and have to terminate the program.

This is probably corruption in a workspace. Uninvite the user from the
workspace that is most likely to be the problem (if the user can't tell from
context, start with the one that has had the most activity) and have the user
restart Groove. If that doesn't fix it, repeat with the next most likely
workspace, and so on.

Alternately, if the user's account exists on another computer, you could
take a quicker but more broadly destructive approach and remove all Groove
data from the laptop with a "Grooveclean -all" and then have the user
reimport the account and rejoin all workspaces. You can also do this if
there is not a second computer, but that causes more data loss (see link
below).

Warnings:

The maximum size workspace that a new member cann join is 2 GB. If you have
workspaces larger than that, you will not be able to reinvite the user to
them.

There is no way to restore a single member/single computer workspace if you
delete it.

For instructions and cautions on "Grooveclean -all", see "How to use
GrooveClean.exe to delete Groove data" at

Windows XP server package 3.

I reinstalled multiple times. When I install it for that session it works
just fine. Soon as I turn off my computer then from them on it will crash
like a million times.

windows xp service package 3.

On fresh install of groove it works just fine. As soon as a restart or I
need to shut off my computer thats when the problems start(it will not work
proper after that point)

I purchased Groove before it was taken over by Microsoft. It actually ran
beautifully then. We used it to collaborate on projects for college, browse
together, share files...Now it's total crap....
